WPS Office is a free office suite designed to compete with MSOffice. WPS Office was initially developed by KingSoft and contains the three core components of an office suite: a word processor, spreadsheet editor, and presentation viewer and creator.

WPS Office is multiplatform and is easily the most formidable opponent to Microsoft Office. It has a ribbon interface and is the first program to be so fully featured and free. The only downside is that each piece of the suite contains advertisements and now has a "premium" version available, although the premium price is well below its competitors' prices.

WPS is great for casual users who don't want to pay for an expensive office suite.
